Chroma, the Bretton-based sports and schoolwear firm, has acquired an independent school uniform shop in St Ives.
The expansion means that Chroma is now providing school clothing to more than 85 schools and academies in the county, mostly based in Peterborough.
Schools using Chroma’s services include Highlees, Paston Ridings, Jack Hunt, Nene Park Academy and Peterborough Regional College.
The company has now brought The Green School Shop under its umbrella – although the independent retailer will continue to operate under its own brand in St Ives.
Susan Jarrah, director of The Green School Shop, said: “Joining Chroma will help develop our schoolwear service and provision even further and we're all looking forward to business as usual with exciting plans for the future.”
Chroma managing director Darren Fogg said: “Chroma already has a strong presence in North Cambs and the acquisition of another schoolwear business - headed by like-minded management - to add strength to our coverage in South Cambs makes a great strategic fit.”
Chroma also trades under the Chromasport brand.
The business recently extended its operations in Peterborough by securing additional premises which now houses three schoolwear showrooms, two sports showrooms, a large production and design unit and extra warehouse capacity.
