Food market returning to Burghley house in April

Burghley House has confirmed, the Spring Fine Food Market is set to take place on Saturday and Sunday, April 17 and 18, in a covid-safe manner. 

This comes as the government has given the green light for non-essential retail and outdoor hospitality to resume services from April12. 

The market is going to be a ticketed event. The organisers have said this is to they can monitor visitor numbers to maintain the social distancing rules for everyone's safety. 

Time slot tickets will be available to pre-book from Monday, April 5, at £3.00 per person (same price for adult and child). 

A spokesperson for Burghley House said: “Although this event will be different and perhaps unfamiliar from previous Fine Food Markets at Burghley, this will be a spacious and pleasant experience whilst you stroll around at your leisure enjoying and taking away your favourite artisan foods in the beautiful surroundings of our Chestnut & Stable Courtyards.  

“Come and celebrate local produce from our fantastic exhibitors including handmade cheeses, luxury sweet treats and rare breed meats. 

Spring Fine Food Market guidelines: 

  • Social distancing remains in place. Please keep 2 metres apart. 

  • No dogs, bikes or scooters are permitted.
