At the news that those over 70 could be asked to isolate at home for 12 weeks - and potentially longer - the volunteers and support groups associated with Children of Adam began receiving a high volume of calls from people in the city who need help accessing food.

The charity has teamed up with the Five Lads Peterborough restaurant to offer free meals to those who are over 70 and staying at home to protect themselves and others from COVID-19.

To continue to offer this service, however, Atiq Rehman and the rest of the Children of Adam team need donations. The pages to donate can be found at childrenofadam.net/appeals/coronavirus-appeal/ or justgiving.com/campaign/coronavirusuk.

Orders can be placed by calling 01733 562287.

Children of Adam is a charity founded by four Peterborough citizens who wanted to help the rough sleepers and homeless of Peterborough. Over the years it has expanded into helping and supporting people all over the world, particularly refugees fleeing conflict and disaster zones.
