At 5.24am on April 9, one crew from Dogsthorpe and one crew from Stanground were called to a flat fire on Meadenvale, Eastfield.

A wheelie bin on fire had spread to the gas meter and the wall cavity within the property, before crews used a hose reel and small gear to extinguish the fire.

On the same day, at 6.04pm, a crew from Stanground was called to a fire on Guilsborough Road in Eye, where they extinguished a tree that had been set alight.

The cause of both fires is believed to be deliberate. Anyone with information should contact police by visiting www.cambs.police.uk to submit an online report or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue recently warned residents to act responsibly when lighting fires in the garden during the holiday period.

The crew has attended 50 outdoors fires since the coronavirus lockdown started.
