During the coronavirus pandemic, as a measure of safety for the volunteers and people in need accessing the service, the charity amended its operations. It continued to provide a cut-back service for people in need.
The Trussell Trust now hopes to re-allow foodbank users into the centre to get their food parcel, but more importantly to be able to connect with them - to sit and enjoy a cup of tea and a chat.
The Trust said: "Food banks provide signposting support to help with underlying crises or issues people need support with and also provide a non-judgmental and friendly welcome at our foodbank centres. If appropriate we can also offer prayer.
“As part of this, we are looking to boost the number of volunteers in their teams at the foodbank centres."

Most volunteering opportunities are from 10.30am to 1.30pm weekday mornings, but some spots may be opening up in the late afternoon on Thursday and Friday.
