Mr Johnson tested positive for Coronavirus on March 27 and was self-isolating for ten days following the test. However, his symptoms worsened and had to be taken into hospital for further tests and treatments.
Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab was asked by the Prime Minister to deputise for him during this period.
Mr Johnson was last seen in public applauding the key workers from his flat in Downing Street on Thursday, April 2, and chaired a coronavirus meeting on the Friday morning.
After his discharge, the Prime Minister thanked the NHS for their efforts to help him recover.
On Twitter, Boris Johnson said: “It is hard to find the words to express my debt to the NHS for saving my life.
“Together we will overcome this challenge, as we have overcome so many challenges in the past.”
