The programme will allow young people to work on a recognised arts qualification while in lockdown.

Arts Award is managed by Trinity College London in association with Arts Council England. There are five levels to the award - Discover, Explore, Bronze, Silver and Gold - and the idea behind the qualification is to inspire children and young people to enjoy creating and participating in arts activities while also gaining experience and knowledge about the arts world.

There is an emphasis on learning communication and professional skills that can be applied in all areas of life, as well as support for further education.

Wildcats Theatre will be running:

  • Explore - an entry level qualification for ages 7 to 11
  • Bronze - a level 1 qualification for ages 11 to 16
  • Silver - a level 2 qualification for ages 11 to 16

Groups will run twice a week using Zoom, the online video meeting platform, and there will be tasks to complete in between sessions. These tasks can be done at home.

Information packs can be obtained by emailing

There will be a fee for the course which will include registration, teaching and accreditation.

Wildcats Theatre School is a theatre school based in Stamford with classes across the South Lincolnshire, Rutland and Peterborough areas. Part-time classes for children aged 2 to 16 are offered, as well as children's parties and entertainment and a full programme of educational holiday activities.
