No injuries reported following lorry blaze

Fire crews from Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire tackle a fire which destroyed a lorry in Peterborough.

The A16 junction between Crowland and Peterborough was shut yesterday evening (May 12) just after 4.30pm following a large lorry fire. 

Fire and rescue teams from both Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire attended the incident including crews from Stanground and Dogsthorpe. 

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue confirmed: “100% Fire damage caused to one HGV, trailer & contents on the A16. Crews extinguished the fire using all the necessary equipment. 

“No injuries have been reported and crews left scene and the incident was handed to the Highways authorities.” 

Crews returned to their stations by 8pm.

They also confirmed, no further investigation is likely to take place on the cause of the fire.
