Alleged M&S meat thief in court

A man who allegedly stole meat worth £400 from M&S is due to appear at Peterborough Magistrates court today, October 19.

Shane Currie, 50, was arrested on Friday morning October 16, following instances of shoplifting at the M&S food store in Queensgate shopping centre. 

He was charged with two counts of theft of meat to the value of £122.94 and £155.92 and bailed to appear at Peterborough Magistrates Court today. 

Currie, of Star Mews in Eastgate, was further arrested on Saturday October 17, again in connection with shoplifting at M&S and has been charged with an additional offence of theft of meat to the value of £109.06. 

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Peterborough Magistrates Court today (Monday).
