Men wearing masks attempt theft of ATM at Werrington petrol station

Four men wearing masks were involved in an attempted theft at Jet petrol station in Werrington.
An attempted theft was reported just before 2.30am at the Jet garage in Werrington village

The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday (September 17) morning.

A police spokespeson said: "There was an attempted theft of the ATM machine at the garage reported at about 2.20am.

"Four men involved were wearing masks. They used a white Transit van that was left at the scene and a dark, believed to be black, BMW that they used as a getaway car in the direction of Morrisons.

"They failed to get the ATM."

Witnesses are being urged to come forward if they saw anything or have dashcam footage from the area at the time.
