Police have issued CCTV of a man they'd like to speak to in connection with an incident in Millfield in June

The victim, a 16-year-old girl, left her workplace and began walking along down Lincoln Road at about 10.30pm when she was approached by a man who appeared to be very drunk.

The girl tried to walk away but he followed her along Lincoln Road, away from the city centre.

He then caught up with her and grabbed her, before hugging her and kissing her neck, and leading her down Cromwell Road, back towards the city centre until they reached the corner of Russell Street where she was further assaulted.

DC Oliver Campbell said: “CCTV footage shows the man walked north on Lincoln Road shortly before the incident occurred. Further footage shows him walking north on Cromwell Road at about 11.30pm, shortly after the incident.

“While we have not been able to capture the man’s face on CCTV, we hope someone may be able to identify him from his distinctive clothing.”

Those with information, or anyone who witnessed the assault, should contact police online via webchat, or by visiting or calling 101 and quoting crime reference 35/40552/21.
