Man arrested after cannabis worth £1.7 million discovered

A 28-year-old man remains in custody at Thorpe Wood Police station after drugs nearly worth £1.72 million were seized from a property in Peterborough today (Wednesday, September 16).

The arrest was made following a warrant execution by the Community Action Team in Hinchcliffe, Orton Goldhay, this morning, September 16, where they discovered a total of 2,049 cannabis plants, 1,989 of which were ‘baby’ plants. 

These have been valued as having a potential street value of more than £1.72 million if grown to full maturity.
