Earlier this year the team behind the Peterborough Beer Festival was forced to cancel the event for the second year in a row, when there was no guidance over what might be allowed in August.

However the replacement trail, featuring 14 pubs from Werrington down to Fletton, was well received, and a similar - albeit bigger - trail is planned for next month.

A post on Peterborough CAMRA's social media feed said: "2021 hopes to bring a couple of extra pubs and will give you a little longer to complete the trail.

"The event will again coincide with what would have been Peterborough CAMRA Beer Festival 2021, so start date will be Friday, August 20 and the finish date Monday, August 30.

"We currently have two pubs holding beer festivals during the Ale Trail, one around the first weekend and one around the second weekend.

"More details in the next couple of weeks or so …..put a note in your diaries…. get your bikes out….brush the dust off your bus tickets and have a long overdue, fun time socialising with some long lost friends and CAMRA buddies."
