Popular Pizza chain Franco Manca has been granted a licence by Peterborough City Council to open their first city branch in Cathedral Square.

The pizza eatery intends to move into 1-4 Long Causeway, which was formerly occupied by Boots opticians.

The application states the restaurant's opening hours will be from 9am to 12.30am, but no grand opening date has yet been given.

External seating is included in the plans, to contribute to the 'cafe culture' project in Cathedral Square.

Franco Manca was founded in 2008 in Brixton, London and specialises in sourdough pizza with a daily changing menu suitable for meat-eaters and vegetarians.
