Youth Dreams Project Launches new scholarship programme

The company has announced the launch of their first girls football scholarship programme in partnership with Stanground Academy.

They currently run a successful scholarship programme at St John Fisher Catholic High School which is now in its fourth year.

The programme starts in September 2022 and is exclusively for girls post-16 looking to further their education.

The education programme will be taught by highly qualified and experienced school staff, and the coaching programmes delivered by UEFA qualified coaches.

They aim to ensure that all students, whether on a Level 2 or Level 3 programme, achieve academic success, develop their sporting talents and prepare for a future career, whether that lies in the sporting field or elsewhere.

YDP Young leader Joanna Rodrigues currently plays for the Peterbrough Nothern Stars Under 17s . Supplied

Ex-POsh goalkeeper Luke Steele, who is co-owner of YDP, is extremely excited about the new programme “Since launching YDP we have been wanting to build the reputation of female sport in the city.

"We work with some fantastic female sports people and want to provide the opportunity for young females in the area to follow in their footsteps.”

An open trial event takes place on Monday, December 20 at 1pm at The Stanground Academy.

YDP encourage all girls over the age of 16 to come down and join them to play some football and find out more.
