As winners of Best Musical for the past two years, the Peterborough drama group were hoping to make it a third consecutive win - and had a decent chance, considering they were nominated twice!
It was the society's production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang that took the prize, winning Best Musical and Best Overall Production for the district. The technical prowess of the society was rewarded as well; the team that got a car to fly every day were honoured with the Best Technical award.
The production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was a big success with audiences when it played at The Cresset in October 2019.
PODS was also nominated for their production of The Producers, which played at the Key Theatre in March 2019.
Their upcoming show, Shrek the Musical, will be performed at The Cresset in May half-term.
