Just weeks after the Lido based on Bishop’s Road opened for this year’s season on April 12, management has had to close it temporarily.

Nina Wright from Peterborough Limited apologised for the inconvenience and confirmed the public pool is closed due to maintenance issues.

It’s expected to be back open for swimmers on Saturday, May 7 but people have been asked to check the website for updates before visiting.

This year, the Lido had an earlier start to the season.

The management also introduced extra early morning sessions in response to customer feedback.  With lots of people enjoying a swim before heading off to work, the doors will usually now be open from 7am, four days a week.

From the end of May, when the evenings are lighter, they will also stay open until 8.30pm twice a week.
