After a challenging year due to an accidental fire in May that caused significant damage, Netherton pharmacy has bounced back.
On Wednesday (September 15), the community pharmacy based on Ledbury Road commenced its flu jab roll-out.
Abbas Ali from the pharmacy said: “We received our flu jab supplies this week and I am happy to say the roll-out started on Wednesday. It seems to be a good take-up and we expect to give out around 1000 flu shots this year, that’s what we envisaged.
“But I would encourage everybody to get jabbed as soon as they can. The sooner they get vaccinated it’s better.
“They can just turn-up, no need to book. We can have them in and out within minutes.
“We don’t know if there might be shortage but at the moment, we are confident of our supplies. But it’s getting busier. So, I would encourage people to take the flu vaccine sooner rather than later."
Earlier in July health secretary Sajid Javid announced, that the seasonal flu programme beginning in September will be the biggest in the UK’s history and urged everyone eligible to take up the jab, adding that they will be made available to more than 35 million people including all secondary school students this winter.
