Accident leaves traffic lights out of use on London Road

Traffic lights in Yaxley, Peterborough, will be replaced with temporary signals following an accident which resulted in the stop lights being out of use.

The traffic lights in Yaxley are currently out of use due to a road accident on October 27. 

It has been confirmed that temporary signals will be installed while the permanent ones are repaired in order to maintain the safety standard. 

A spokesman from Cambridgeshire Constabulary said: "We were called at 11.24pm on October 27 with reports that a car had collided with some bollards and traffic lights on London Road, Yaxley.

"The driver drove away from the scene but was stopped by officers shortly afterwards.

"A 43-year-old man from Yaxley was arrested for failing to provide a specimen and taken to hospital."
