RPA LTD will now transform the offices based at 61 and 63 Broadway into up to 18 studio apartments, after prior approval notices were granted from Peterborough City Council for two separate planning applications.
The proposed development has been approved subject to conditions, including adding an on-site cycle parking provision. The plan includes turning the offices into eight and 10 new studio flats, with associated car parking nearby.
There are bus stops on Broadway, and it is within a short walk of the bus and train stations. It is not considered that use of the property as apartments will lead to any material increase in traffic or an adverse impact on the local highway network.
The application read: "Adequate cycle storage can be provided on site and seven car parking spaces are available to serve the apartments. This accords with the Council’s Local Plan car parking spaces based on 0.5 spaces per apartment plus one space per every six apartments as the site is within the defined City Centre. The provision of secure cycle parking can be required by condition."
