In less than four years, Peter and Maggie Rushmer have grown their business, Flagship Partners, from a one-man business operating from a kitchen table in Hampton to a Fengate facility with two dedicated training rooms, a team of ten staff and many local, well-known clients including Steele’s of Stamford, Richard Cobley Transport, CS Ellis Rutland, EML Electrical and more.

The business started in May 2018 offering fuss-free CPC training for HGV drivers. Since then, and despite the almost two-year challenge they and other training providers faced during Covid, they have substantially extended the range of courses, services and support to include first-aid training & mental health training.

Furthermore, they have also specialised in supporting businesses with fleet management needs ensuring they operate safely, efficiently and in compliance with Road Transport Law – enabling them to achieve accreditations including ISO standards, FORS & DVSA Earned Recognition.

Flagship MD Peter said: “Our goal is to ensure our clients are operating safer, greener, and greater businesses. To achieve this, we needed more space than we had and begun a process to find our new home”.

Having struggled to find the right space and at one point they considered moving away from Peterborough, the business moved from Workspace House, the shared space experts in Woodston, to a Fengate premises that boasts two dedicated training rooms.

Maggie, co-founder, explained that “Staying somewhere in the city was always our plan but it wasn’t easy. Then one of our clients, the family run Rose Group, proposed to design our ideal space within their own site at Low Cross House on Padholme Road.

"Now we have the perfect base here in Fengate where we can grow the business further still and focus on delivering the quality services we are known for”.

Evidence of the strength of their service can be heard from BSH Recycling. Also Fengate-based, they have been a client of Flagship since they started and cite the overall professionalism of the entire team as a major reason for using them.

William Murphy, Regional Marketing Manager at BSH Recycling said, “Over the past four years we’ve used the training and online courses Flagship Partners provide to improve and maintain, amongst other things Health and Safety, FORS, CPC training and to ensure everything is in place and working well for our ISO Certification.

"Their attitude is great, Flagship Partners are not just about delivering training and providing certification, they are always at the end of the phone and always have time to talk, to guide and advise.”

To celebrate their new premises and allow local businesses to see what they offer, Pete and his team are having a meet-and-greet open day between 10am & 2pm on Friday, June 24 - click here to find out more about the business, their services and the open day.
