The Peterborough Biscuit business event has been running annually since 2017. It's a day of exhibitions that works to showcase the excellent business community within a 55-mile radius of Peterborough.
Edward Smith, lead event organiser of The Peterborough Biscuit, said: "The Biscuit was created because there was nothing locally that was fit for purpose for all business when dealing with exhibitions. There was nothing that had no exclusions, where anyone who had a business could attend or exhibit - and to this day there is only the Biscuit that caters for this on a grand scale.
"The approach was very much to build from the business communities that may not have spoken before. We wanted to get the networking pools around the differing areas in Peterborough all in one room in one day and let the atmosphere do the rest.
"Personally, I wanted to create an atmosphere where anyone, any business, from any walk of life could come and be equal. No judgments about the size of the business or the service offering but something that spoke to both the one person band and the large corporate outfit. I'm happy to say that the Biscuit is a place for all to do business on one day."
The 2020 event was one of the last events held before coronavirus hit, in February, and although attention has turned to the 2021 exhibition, Edward knows that things will be slightly different from the way they've been before.
He said: "We are watching the guidance from the government closely, but our event centres around people and having people interact with others, so for us it is about how we do that safely. Of course, we are looking at signage and the like, but also what people give out on the day as well. A large part of exhibitions is merchandise so we are looking at how we can hand that out safely.
"We are very keen to see everyone next year and we have much planning to do."
The 2021 Peterborough Biscuit is scheduled to be held on February 10, starting at 9am at the East of England Arena. Find the visitor registration form here.
