The homes will be provided as part of the affordable housing scheme in Peterborough, with four one-bedroom apartments and eight two-bedroom apartments coming available.
The 12 new properties will also be paired with 24 new parking spaces in the area.
In their application form, SRC, who are applying on behalf of Accent Housing, wrote: "The site is bounded by Alma Road to the south, a residential car park to the east, and existing residential dwellings and retail shops to the north and west. The site is currently a disused ‘brownfield’ site and is overgrown with vegetation.
"The proposed development consists of 12 new dwellings, all to be dedicated to housing association stock. There is a combination of flats, terraces, and maisonettes."
