Vicar of Dibley gets a new date for The Cresset production

Peterborough Operatic and Dramatic Society (PODS) has pledged that the shows will go on after the second lockdown forced further performance postponements.

PODS had to cancel its May production of Shrek the Musical due to the first set of Covid-19 restrictions, but the theatre group and The Cresset had hoped to take to the stage once again in November and December; first with a return to the acclaimed production of The Vicar of Dibley that was put on at the Key Theatre in 2018, and then with an Unmasked festive concert.

However, the announcement of a second lockdown in England until December 2 has meant that these shows have had to be postponed.

The Vicar of Dibley has been rescheduled to run from January 21 to January 23, while the Unmasked concert is now set for February 6 - with a little less Christmas involved.

The Cresset is contacting ticketholders to reschedule. These postponements are subject to emerging guidance in the New Year.

PODS said in a post on social media: "Apologies in advance but the health and safety of all our members and supporters at this difficult time is paramount. We will be back. Stay safe, keep well."
