Organisers Cine-Sister, an organisation that focuses on promoting women-lead films, say they have been busy preparing for the online edition of Gateway Film Festival 2020, to be held over three days between November 26 to November 29.
Gateway has sourced 15 short films from around the world showcasing a mixture of documentary, fiction, animation and artist moving image. In addition, there will be three programmes of archival material including a special screening of Lois Weber's Hypocrites (1915) with a brand new Gateway commissioned score by local musician Lloyd Davies.
Additionally, two films on the ICO Second Sight tour and a selection of films from the East Anglian Film Archive's Amateur women filmmakers collection.
An excited Emily Steele from Cine-Sister said: "We’re thrilled to be able to go ahead in some form with the festival this year.
"Whilst Covid-19 may have scuppered our plans for an in-person festival this year we are pleased to bring you a fantastic selection of world and local cinema at home instead!
"We have a really wide-ranging programme of shorts and archival films so I hope everyone can find something to enjoy."
Gateway film festival has thanked their partners Necessity, EAFA, Kino Lorber, ICO, Film Freeway and Paper Rhino.
