A licensing application was submitted to Peterborough City Council to host the event on June 20 from 10am, with staggered start times throughout the day to ensure safety comes first.

The event is repeated twice on the day, once at 10am to 1pm and again at 2pm to 5pm.

Hosted by City Culture Peterborough and sponsored by City College Peterborough, the summer solstice at Flag Fen is a ticketed event with activities for all.

Children will be able to take part in a treasure hunt trail and fun challenges will be on the route. Demonstrations of traditional heritage crafts will be available and people are encouraged to come in costumes to celebrate – flower fairies and warriors are their suggestion.

Stalls will be available throughout with gifts to buy and hot and cold food available, there will also be a prize draw to win a year's free entry for a family of five to Flag Fen.

Visitors must wear a face covering indoors unless exempt and dogs will not be allowed to the event (except for guide dogs).

Flag Fen will only be open for the event on June 20, therefore general visitors will not be able to access the site.
