GP surgeries experience 'significant' IT issues as patients unable to book

Significant IT issues are causing problems across various GP surgeries in Peterborough; patients have been advised to be patient, or call NHS 111 in emergencies and 999 if it is life threatening.

Various GP surgeries have been affected by the IT issues including Central Medical Centre Thistlemoor, Boroughbury and Nene Valley among others within the Peterborough area. 

IT has been called to resolve the issue as soon as possible and it has been identified as a national problem, it has been confirmed. 

Dr Shabina Qayyum said: "We are currently experiencing IT issues at the surgeries within Peterborough and are unable to contact patients.

"Surgeries within Peterborough are currently experiencing significant IT issues and are unable to access patient records or book patients in. Please be patient if your appointment has been booked this morning and if you are yet to make an appointment that isn’t an emergency please wait until tomorrow to do so. 

"For all emergencies please ring NHS 111 or 999 if it is life threatening."
