Melanie Richard's Hair and Beauty has confirmed it will be opening on July 4. Appointments aren't being booked until the guidance is received, but customers are urged to add their name to the appointment waiting list and someone will be in touch as soon as possible.
Those hoping for beauty treatments will have to wait a little longer, however, with a post on the salon's Facebook page reading: "It’s very saddening that our beauty team will not be joining us, beauty and nails remain closed for now. This is of course upsetting, however we are moving in the right direction! We can’t wait to welcome all our lovely hair clients back into salon, we know you have missed us just as much as we have missed you."
The Bretton Barber Shoppe has confirmed that it will be opening again on July 4, after spending the lockdown time deep-cleaning the shop and ensuring there is plenty of PPE on hand for customers and staff.
Until full guidance from the government is provided, many salons and shops are unable to confirm every protective measure being taken, but a post on social media from The Bretton Barber Shoppe says that sections will be completely cleaned and sanitised between customers,
Each barber will get two sets of combs so that they can be swapped and disinfected between customers, tissues and hand sanitiser will be provided, and the 1+ metre rule will be obeyed and signposted.
Kai Wan, owner of Pkai Hair, which has three salons in the Peterborough region, said in a video posted to social media that he was excited to get back to work with his "amazing" team on July 4.
Patience would be required as the business adapts to the guidelines, he warned. "I said in a post before lockdown I'll always put health before wealth and the welfare of my team and clients comes before anything, so we'll make sure we're sticking to guidelines and going above and beyond wherever possible."
He also stressed that there would be no judgment for clients who had taken their haircare into their own hands: "We're not going to judge you, we're just so happy to have you back!"
- Serenity Loves is contacting those on its waiting list to organise appointments.

- Talking Heads is taking appointments, with customers asked to message the dates they're available rather than use the online system.
