Queensgate has faced numerous blows with store closures this year, as the likes of John Lewis, Topshop, Topman and now Next have vacated their previous retail units - all were open prior to the third national lockdown.
The retail store, which is currently situated on the first floor of Queensgate, is expected to open after lockdown for a number of weeks prior to its permanent closure.
A spokesman for Next said: "I can confirm that Next will be closing its store in Queensgate Shopping Centre, Peterborough, and that staff are aware of this.
They added: "Next’s nearby stores at Brotherhood Retail Park and Serpentine Green are not affected."
The spokesman confirmed that the store will be closing due to the end of the lease, and some of the employees will be transferred to the two unaffected stores.
