JD Sports may be coming to Serpentine Green

Mothercare in Serpentine Green closed in November 2019, and after remaining empty for over a year – and throughout the three national lockdowns – the next store to take up part of the premises could be the sports-fashion retail company.

In plans submitted to PCC from agents Jones Lang LaSalle Limited to install a 184 square metre mezzanine at the back of the store, it was noted that it would be for the use of a proposed JD Sports store in Unit 18 to 19B.

As per the plans, the JD Sports store will not be as big as the former Mothercare store, with the creation of a proposed Unit A and Unit C either side, to make way for two other new premises.

If the deal to bring in JD Sports is finalised, it will be located in the main entrance of the former store, with a ground floor size of 790sq metres.

It would also join Peterborough's other current JD Undisputed King of Trainers premises, in Queensgate
