On social media, the club confirmed the news and said this change will reflect from May 4, 2021. Over the next few days all Sports Club social media accounts will be changed to reflect the new brand. New Instagram and Twitter accounts will also be set up.

The club is based in Bretton near Peterborough City Hospital and is home of the City of Peterborough Hockey Club, City of Peterborough Squash & Racketball Club, City of Peterborough Bowls Club, City of Peterborough Tennis Club and Peterborough Town Cricket Club. A bar and social facilities are also available on site.

In a Facebook post, the club said: "This has been agreed by Management Council and all section heads who feel it better reflects the club brand within the city.

"The individual sections will retain their existing names and the legal entity will also remain unchanged. The club logo has been modernised and will be used in all official communications going forward."

A new website will also be launched shortly to reflect the name change.
