PODCAST: Citizens UK and Peterborough

A Citizens Alliance in Peterborough could be a great thing for the city, according to one of those hoping to bring it here soon.

In our latest Peterborough Natters podcast, which you can hear below, Dr Tim Hall, HE Academic Lead for Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at University Centre Peterborough, tells us that an alliance could be heading to the city in the next 18 months, although listening work is already going on behind the scenes.

Community Organising is about returning power to people. It prioritises personal relationships, membership of institutions rooted within the community and a pragmatic approach to influencing people who hold power in government, business or public life.

It works with a diverse group of leaders from these institutions; schools, universities, hospitals, mosques, churches, synagogues, charities and other community groups, teaching them a method of community organising so they can take power and achieve change on the issues that matter to them.
