Woman in court for alleged Tesco and Co-op thefts

Lorraine Williams, 48, is due in court today (Monday, October 19) charged with stealing more than £300 of alcohol from Peterborough shops and being in possession of a knife.

Williams was arrested in the early hours of yesterday morning (Sunday, October 18) following an instance of shoplifting at Tesco Extra in the Serpentine Green Shopping Centre.

She has since been charged with five counts of theft from a shop, namely Tesco Extra in Hampton, Tesco in Werrington, Co-op in Ortongate, between June 13 and October 17. This includes alcohol worth £311 and other goods.

Williams, of no fixed address, has also been charged with being in possession of a knife in a public place and has been remanded in custody to appear at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court today.
