Burn off those Christmas carrots with Posh mascot Peter Burrow

Peter Burrow, popular Posh mascot, is starring in a series aimed at encouraging primary school children to stay fit and healthy over Christmas.
PE with Peter aims to get primary school children active over the Christmas break

PE with Peter premiered on Facebook and YouTube on Monday at 9.30am, and he was also online on Tuesday. Further editions tomorrow morning - Wednesday - as well as Thursday and Boxing Day are scheduled.

Peter is joined by Academy Sports Scientist James Baum for the sessions, which last for around eight minutes each and encourage children to participate in some simple exercises to stay fit, as well as having some fun!

Press Officer Phil Adlam said: "We wanted to see if we could put together a short series over the Christmas period to try and encourage children to stay active and who better to help lead that than Peter Burrow?! The sessions are short and sharp but plenty of fun and of course, it is not just the children that can participate, adults can too!

"We are actively encouraging you to take part and not just take part but send in your photos and videos of you doing so, we will feature them in future editions of the show. We hope that children across the city get involved.

"Peter is looking forward to seeing everyone participate and has already got some more fun exercises up his sleeve."

Once the daily show has premiered on Facebook and YouTube, people will be able to watch the episodes back.

The club are hopeful that future episodes can be filmed for the new year, with the help of Nick Reinis-Keightley, who helped put the first shows together.

Photos and videos of those joining in with Peter should be sent to - or send them on social media.
