Collections of garden rubbish (brown bins) and the small grey food bins has been disrupted around Peterborough since August 27.
This is due to staff shortages at Aragon Direct Services, the waste management partner for Peterborough City Council.
Aragon confirmed on Friday (September 10), that food bins will be collected from September 13 but the brown bin collections will continue to be suspended for a further two weeks.
Despite the challenges, the team of refuse collectors has been working hard all through the pandemic to ensure waste management is on track each week and black bins are prioritised.
Aragon Services apologised for the inconvenience this is causing to residents.and said: “We are pleased to report that, as of w/c 13th September, the food waste collection will resume as normal across the city.
“Due to ongoing staff shortages, however, the garden waste collection will be cancelled for a further fortnight. Garden waste customers will receive an update by email. We apologise for this continued disruption.
“Please be assured that we are working hard to be able to reinstate the garden waste service as soon as possible.”
