A suspected rogue trader targeted a woman in her 80s in Peterborough.
In mid-July a man went to an elderly woman’s home in Broadway, Peterborough, claiming he had completed roofing work on her property and was owed £60.
The victim, who is in her 80s, handed over the money.
At about 8am on Monday July 22, the man returned, forcefully saying he needed another £70 to re-do the work. The victim again gave him the money.
It isn’t believed any work ever took place.
Cambridgeshire Constabulary is now asking people to look out for vulnerable people they know when it comes to rogue trading.
Other advice includes never accepting offers of work from cold callers or letting them into your home.
