The branch move means that the Co-operative Society's food, funeral and travel businesses are now all operating in the shopping centre.
Cheryl Cipriano has been the branch manager at the travel branch in the city for the past 24 years. She said: “We are really looking forward to working alongside our food retail colleagues at our new home in Orton and it’s an exciting challenge to have all three family of businesses together in one location.
“It has been well documented that this has been a very challenging time for the travel industry and I believe more than ever that Co-operative Travel really stands out in the marketplace because of our independence which means we are free to book with numerous tour operators.
“We are also open, honest and up front, while our staff are friendly and always go the extra mile for customers, many of whom keep coming back to us because they trust our knowledge and experience.
“The team and I look forward to welcoming customers old and new to our new home and would encourage locals to drop in and have a chat and see how we can help them with all their holiday needs.”
