Mark Winterton, who began his career in banking at the TSB in 1980, has joined the local wealth management firm to support both individual and corporate clients.

After leaving TSB in 2000, Mark joined Melton Mowbray IFA firm Russell Watchorn where he worked for five years. After a stint at compliance company, Accord, he has spent most of the last 14 years at Russell Ullyatt Wealth Management / The RUGroup a company managing more than £500m in assets.

At Bulley Davey Wealth Management, Mark will be helping customers with a variety of financial needs from advising on investments to creating pension and protection plans for individuals and corporate clients.

Speaking about what attracted him to Bulley Davey Wealth Management, Mark said: “From my first meeting with Robin Bates and the team, I knew that we had the same approach to helping clients big and small. The fact that they are aligned with a full-service accountancy firm in Bulley Davey is exciting too and I’m looking forward to seeing how we can work to support our clients across the region.”

Robin Bates, Director at Bulley Davey Wealth Management, added: “We’re so pleased to have Mark onboard at Bulley Davey Wealth Management. He brings with him a wealth of experience in the sector and an extensive knowledge of financial issues on an individual and corporate level.”

Mark’s appointment comes amidst a significant period of crisis and uncertainty for the world, in the wake of COVID-19. When asked about his thoughts on the economic and financial impact,

Mark said: “This is no doubt an unprecedented crisis and it is very hard for anyone to say for sure what is going to happen and what the long-term impacts are going to be. Certainly there is no one-size-fits-all; it is about what is right for each individual – but you can never go wrong by getting some guidance to see what your situation looks like and what will work for you.

“This could be diversifying your assets – whether that’s bonds, cash or properties – or simply readjusting your goals or objectives as a business during this time.”
