Ferry Meadows café and visitor centre to be 'revitalised'

New look for the cafe at Ferry Meadows as refurbishment works to begin next week

The Café is about to undergo a full refurbishment, thanks to the significant investment of the current catering provider Meadow Brown Restaurants.

The original café in the park, situated next to the Visitor Centre, is beginning to show its age and is now in need of a transformation. The proposed refurbishment will see a revitalised café; clean and light-filled spaces with better accessibility for all.

Ferry Meadows Café is where it all started for Raj Regmi, managing director of Meadow Brown Restaurants Ltd who says: “Ferry Meadows Cafe holds a very special place in our hearts. We are hoping to transform the look and feel of the café, enhancing the customer experience whilst retaining the values that our customers love.

"Expect big things; a clean, contemporary interior that flows better, with a delicious new menu, still focusing on locally sourced produce, cooked freshly to order. We are excited for the future and cannot wait to welcome you all to our new look café.”

Meadow Brown has just signed a further 10-year lease with Nene Park Trust.

The refurbishment of the café follows work carried out by the trust to renovate the café toilets. The new toilets will offer refreshed and accessible facilities better suited to the visitors with a dedicated quiet/parent room, new toilet cubicles including some larger accessible cubicles and a new accessible toilet.

The café refurbishment work is due to start on March 7 with completion by April 1, in time for the Easter holidays. The café will be closed during this time but visitors to Ferry Meadows will be able to purchase refreshments at the other café - Lakeside Kitchen & Bar at the Lakeside end of the Park.

Exciting changes will also be happening soon in the Visitor Centre with more announcements on these coming soon.
