Firethorn acquired the site from O&H Properties and planning approval has now been granted for the Peterborough South development at Kingston Park in Hampton.

The scheme will comprise three high-quality industrial units, offering a choice of various sized units.. Future occupiers can benefit from a clear internal height of 15m, up to 52.5m yard depth and 3MVA of power.

Work will commence on-site in Q1 (January to March), with practical completion in the last quarter of the year.

Paul Martin, development director at Firethorn Trust, said: “We are delighted to secure planning permission for Peterborough South, which will be an important addition to our growing portfolio.

“It is an excellent example of our sharp focus on sustainability - with the scheme’s environmental credentials placed front and centre. The development will be delivered as net-zero carbon in construction, with a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ specification.

"Its infrastructure will feature more than 40,000 sq. ft. of photovoltaic arrays and 48 electric vehicle charging points, offering potential occupiers a smart and future-proof logistics space.

“At Firethorn, we are committed to working in close collaboration with the communities in which we build, transforming sites into high-quality and sustainable logistics schemes that meet industry demand and foster wider economic and employee benefits.”

The development will also support Peterborough’s local workforce and create approximately 200 jobs for the region.

The scheme is located six minutes from Junction 17 of the A1(M) and adjacent to Fletton Parkway, with the aim of allowing future occupiers to benefit from quick and easy access to the motorway network and local labour force.
