Peters' Cleaners, an award-winning local dry cleaning company, has appointed Andy Mee as an advisor.

Andy is a certified accountant and has previously held financial director positions with leading firms such as Compass before becoming managing director of Selecta UK and Ireland in 2005, the largest vending business in the UK and Ireland.

He has extensive strategic, general and financial management experience having operated across a broad range of businesses, in terms of size, sector, stage of development and ownership.

As an entrepreneur, Andy recently guided a fledgling technology business, Motor Document Solutions Ltd. through its growth cycle, culminating in its successful multi-million-pound sale in June 2021 to Keyloop.

Andy also has experience of franchising through the Business Doctors franchise and has partnered with a number of small and medium-sized companies, helping them to achieve the next level of sustainable growth.

“Peters’ Cleaners has an ambitious but achievable growth plan, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the company to make that happen,” said Andy. “I am impressed by the company’s energy, vision and commitment to bringing a very traditional industry into the 21st Century, by making customer experience and convenience the cornerstone of servicing.”

“We are excited that Andy is joining us on the advisory board”, said Vicky Whiter, owner and managing director of Peters’ Cleaners. “We are extremely confident that his experience in building businesses and in franchising, he is the right person to guide Peters’ Cleaners through the next stage of our development.”

Peters’ Cleaners partnered with Seedrs to launch an equity crowdfunding campaign to fund its growth agenda. The company raised over £250,000 on the crowdfunding platform to enable it to better meet fast-growing demand through their innovative dry cleaning pods.

“The response from the investment community has been amazing and we surpassed our target. I am now looking forward to the launch of more of our 24/7 pods in 2022 in the local area and building a national brand.” concluded Vicky.

Established in 1963, Peters' Cleaners has been serving the local community for more than 55 years and is Peterborough’s longest established dry cleaning and laundry business. The company was bought by Vicky Whiter in June 2016, and has since introduced the latest industry innovations to improve the overall customer experience and meet changing customer demands.

Peters’ Cleaners has won six business excellence awards in the last three years, including ‘Outstanding Customer Service Team 2020 and Best Dry Cleaning Business 2020.

The company currently has shop premises in Millfield and Stamford, and automated pods at Serpentine Green and Peterborough Train Station. It aims to install more pods locally and regionally in 2022.
