Young entrepreneur, 22, moving luxury watch business to Norfolk Street

Ross Chapman is excited to be moving his watch repair business to Peterborough

Ross Chapman, aged just 22, is moving L. Chapman Repairs, named after his late father, from his small store in Stamford Morrison's supermarket after "out-growing the location".

He opened the luxury watch repair kiosk in July 2020, despite the strain on many businesses due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and has since gained a status that sees him need more space for customers.

A unit at The Courtyard Business Park in Norfolk Street, Peterborough, is his next destination and bookings are being accepted from Monday, April 12.

Ross said: "I’m really excited to be coming into Peterborough in a perfect location which is just five minutes from Peterborough Station.

"I absolutely loved every minute in our Stamford store, but the business is getting bigger and we need some more space for our customers.

"I will definitely miss seeing our regular customers in Morrison’s but welcome anyone looking for a repair to book an appointment on our website.

"I honestly can’t wait to begin our move to Peterborough and start meeting some new local customers, we’re walking distance from Queensgate Shopping Centre."

Measures are being put in place to ensure the safety of customers at the opening of the store, including swapping walk-ins to bookings only. Those wanting a repair for their watch, clock or jewellery will have to book an appointment online.

Ross, a former gymnastics instructor, is partly self-taught but learnt a lot from an industry friend he met in London when living there in 2019. He swapped the busy city life for Lincolnshire when he moved home to Deeping St Nicolas at the beginning of 2020, starting his business locally.

L. Chapman Repairs was already well-established online and will continue to cater for those customers using postal or safe pick-up/drop-off services. It offers services such as watch battery replacements, polishing, servicing, glass replacements, bracelet re-pins and many more.
