Pret A Manger closed in 2020 - but a building control application suggests Costa could be moving in
Last week, a building control application was submitted to the council to fit out the Queensgate retail unit "to Costa Coffee brand standards".
Costa already has a shop in the centre of Queensgate. Other branches across the city include Bretton Centre, Brotherhood, Hampton Avenue, Serpentine Green and at Peterborough City Hospital.
A shop in Bridge Street closed in early 2018.
Peterborough's Pret A Manger shop closed in July; it was one of the branches that was closed permanently following the operating losses of the first Covid-19 lockdown.
Both Queensgate and Costa Coffee have said they are unable to comment on the application.
