WestPoint, home to Bauer Media and previously occupied by Thomas Cook, has undergone its £4 million refurbishment, now providing a business lounge, gym, sports hall and café, car park with electric vehicle charging capability and five-star data connectivity rating. The development has been offered a platinum cyclingscore.com rating, partly thanks to its closeness to Ferry Meadows Country Park and the Green Wheel cycle network.
A new 10-year lease has been agreed with Western Union International Bank for space totalling 12,249 sq ft on the second floor. Meanwhile, environmental consultant Jeremy Benn Associates Ltd (JBA) has signed a new five-year lease for nearly 5,000 sq ft on the first floor.
Edward Gee, associate director in the business space team at Savills Peterborough, who jointly advised the sale, commented: "Up until now there has been very little availability across the city when it comes to prime office stock so we have received a high level of interest to date."
Rupert Langdon, investment manager at Atlantic Leaf, added: "We have found interest from occupiers has actually been accelerated by Covid-19 as people seek affordable Cambridgeshire countryside living only 49 minutes by train to London, whilst businesses are considering longer term strategic 'hub and spoke' office models."
