Mums of all abilities have been encouraged to join Peterborough's new Mums In Business group to help them grow their careers while taking care of their youngsters.

Danielle Navarro, 34, is leading the group in the city after setting up numerous business ventures herself.

The motivational group has been set up to inspire mums to build their career, meetings will include motivational speakers talking about their story. Their most recent speaker, Taz Thornton, who has also featured on TedTalk, is a motivational speaker who encourages people to launch businesses and focuses on empowerment.

She said: "When you're working from home and trying to start your own business, it can feel really lonely. It helps to be reminded that there are other people doing the same thing as you, and facing the same challenges.

"We're not all about business, we have a Facebook group so that the other mums can ask for advice any day of the week. Although we're mostly aimed at mums who have started a business, we're happy to let anyone join, whether they're working on their business full-time or if it's something on the side for now."

Explaining the point of the group is to motivate people, she added: "I want to work with people on their goals. Most people have yearly goals, but I want to help them narrow it down to monthly and weekly goals, while figuring out how to achieve them."

She added: "It's important to have these networking groups because it'll help people with their own business and encourage people to grow in confidence.

"It's done a lot for me. Two years ago leading a group would've been my worst nightmare, but I'm happy to do so now. We would never make anyone do anything they're not comfortable with."

The next Mums In Business meeting is on Wednesday, March 18 from 10:30 to 12:30.
