This is the fourth consecutive year that the company, which employs around 1,000 staff in Peterborough, has been given the title by the Top Employer Institute.

Additionally, Whirlpool EMEA was awarded Top Employer Europe, having been certified in the UK, France, Italy, Poland and Russia.

This title is awarded based on participation and results in the HR Best Practices Survey conducted by the Top Employers Institute programme. The survey covers six HR areas, with topics including people strategy, work environment, talent acquisition, learning, wellbeing, and diversity and inclusion.

Andrzej Tuleja, UK and Ireland general manager at Whirlpool UK Appliances Limited, said: "We are thrilled to have been recognised as a Top Employer once more. Our colleagues are integral to our business and ensuring we provide a safe working environment that supports and nurtures our colleagues is of utmost importance.

"2020 was an unprecedented year for us all; we are therefore delighted that 2021 has started with an amazing recognition of the hard work and dedication that Whirlpool invests in its colleagues for now, and the future."

Top Employers Institute CEO David Plink added: "Despite the challenging year we have experienced (which has certainly made an impact on organisations around the globe), Whirlpool UK has continued to demonstrate the power of putting their people first in the workplace."
