Following the continued development of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation, and in line with government advice, Queensgate Shopping Centre will be closed from today (Tuesday, March 24) until further notice.

Access to essential goods and services remains open and includes Boots, which can be accessed via the Boots Long Causeway entrance and M&S Food, which is accessible via the centre’s Queen Street doors.

Over the past week, Queensgate has seen the daily closure of retailers. During this period, Queensgate has continued to support retailers that maintained trading and provided constant updates for shoppers through social media channels, website and email.

The new measures mean immediate action and the closure of Queensgate is an essential part to help protect the community.

There will be no access to Queensgate Shopping Centre, all car parks will be closed and the bus station will run a limited service but will be accessible via the Westgate Bus Station entrance and the centre entrance on Bourges Boulevard.

The Centre Director at Queensgate Shopping Centre, Mark Broadhead said: "This is an unprecedented and challenging time for us all and we are following the strict guidelines set by the government and Public Health England. We strongly ask people not to come into the city centre or gather in groups but instead stay at home and follow the NHS advice at www.nhs.co.uk. Please help us keep people safe by sticking to these simple measures.

"We would like to thank everyone that has shown great spirit and support, and we look forward to opening Queensgate again in the near future for all to enjoy."

Queensgate will continue to communicate with its customers via our various digital communication channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, the website and email.
