In Cambridgeshire last year there were 86 reports of romance fraud, with total losses to victims over £558,000.
Romance fraud is when fraudsters target victims, often through online dating sites or social media, and form a relationship with the intention of asking them for money or enough personal information to steal their identity.
Crime reduction officers will be conducting an information session about romance fraud (and how to spot the signs) on the Cambridgeshire Constabulary Facebook page on Friday February 14 at 10.30am.
They will be joined by three Cambridgeshire victims of romance fraud who will share their stories, as well as the CEO of Get Safe Online, Tony Neate.
