Turning Point is a funded initiative from Growth Works with Skills and will provide funded internships and short course training, with the funded work placements lasting for 12 weeks– helping employers gain a new, motivated member of the team, bringing innovation, ideas and skills.
Skills and Business Engagement Manager for Growth Works Nikki Burton said: "After the last two years with the pandemic, we know that a high number of people, sadly have been made redundant and are having to look for new career opportunities and in some cases complete career changes.
"We also know that certain business sectors are also crying out for staff and are struggling to recruit staff to fill roles.
"We want to let local businesses know that funding is available for training and internships and can help increase the talent within the local area which will ensure that businesses can grow with the right skill talent for their business. We also want to make people aware that you can get paid for completing an internship."
Turning Point is being launched on January 18, with an online introduction from 10.30am to 11.30am.
