A fundraiser has been launched to help Cain's family pay for his funeral and give a fitting send-off to their beloved son.

In a tribute they said: “Cain was fun, loving and a free spirit with a passion for cars.

“He is loved and will be missed by all that knew him. Our hearts are broken and life will never be the same again.”

Cain's cousin Hannah Woolley who set up the fundraiser said that Cain touched many people's lives and "will be missed massively by everyone that knew him."

She said: "Cain was the life and soul of every car meet and never failed to make people laugh, he was always there to lend a helping hand to his friends when they needed him. Everyday is a day closer to seeing you again. Rest easy bro we love you."

While paying tribute to his son, his father Ernest Hebblethwaite told Peterborough Matters he wants to also thank the people from various car clubs who have helped them with the fundraiser.

He said: “Rest In Peace Cain, you are going to be missed much more than you ever realised. I love you with all my heart and don’t know what to do at the moment.

“I am meeting with his mum and stepdad Michelle and Shane and close friends to start looking at funeral arrangements, and will appreciate if other people and families can help us say our goodbyes to Cain in a deserving way.

“The car clubs that he was involved in, and who since his passing have been so supportive of the family and even raised a massive amount of cash to pay for his funeral, are going to be involved in his service in a big way and I would like to say my thank you to them.”

Cain’s father also urged other youngsters to be mindful of theirs and others safety while driving.

Ernest said: “Please be careful folks. Don’t have your loved ones and friends going through what me and Cain’s mum, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and all his friends are going through right now...drive safely.”

The fundraiser has so far raised just over £2500, people who wish to join in and donate can do so here
